Документ Gender projects as a factor in promoting gender equality in Ukraine(2025) Ріжняк, Ренат Ярославович; Акбаш, Катерина Сергіївна; Пасічник, Наталя Олексіївна; Rizhniak, R.; Akbash, K.; Pasichnyk, N.(en) The article examines the key areas and results of national and international projects in Ukraine aimed at achieving gender equality. Particular attention is paid to the initiatives of Ukrainian organizations working to form a gender-sensitive society through educational activities and overcoming stereotypes. Effective practices imple-mented within the framework of such projects as the platform “Women are 50% of Ukraine’s success”, the activ-ities of the Institute of Mass Information, public organizations “Business Development Center” and “Youth for Human Rights” are analyzed. It is determined that the integration of international experience, active public partic-ipation and the development of institutional mechanisms contribute to the strengthening of gender policy. The need for further improvement of mechanisms for implementing gender projects is emphasized, in particular in terms of monitoring, financing and adaptation to the Ukrainian context. The results of the study can become the basis for the formation of an effective toolkit for implementing gender equality at the regional and institutional levels.Документ Complex gender indices: historical and methodological aspect(2025) Ріжняк, Ренат Ярославович; Акбаш, Катерина Сергіївна; Пасічник, Наталя Олексіївна; Akbash, K.; Pasichnyk, N.; Rizhniak, R.(en) The problem of gender inequality remains relevant worldwide, evolving alongside social and cultural changes. Overcoming gender disparities fosters social justice, drives economic growth, and enhances opportunities for individuals and society. This article examines the history and methodology of constructing three key gender indices: the Gender Development Index, the Gender Inequality Index, and the Global Gender Gap Index. Special attention is given to adapting these indices to the subnational level in Ukraine, considering regional socio-eco-nomic disparities, cultural factors, and the European integration context. The study highlights the importance of measuring gender inequality dynamics and proposes methodological approaches for regional adaptation, contrib-uting to more effective resource allocation and policy development.Документ Generalization of calculation methods for gender indices in demographic and social statistics(2018) Акбаш, Катерина Сергіївна; Пасічник, Наталя Олексіївна; Ріжняк, Ренат Ярославович; Akbash, Kateryna; Pasichnyk, N.; Rizhniak, R.(en) Currently, theoretical and practical approaches to gender issues are at a developmental stage. An important issue in gender statistics is the correct application of simple gender indices. This topic should be of interest to scholars and social workers engaged with gender issues. Due to the fact that gender parity/asymmetry indices give different results in different spheres of application, there is a need to develop separate methodological approaches for applying the indices to demographic and social statistics. In the research presented, mathematical methods were used to obtain complete and accurate quantitative characteristics of simple gender indicators. Methods of statistical observations, statistical groupings are used in the process of collecting, systematizing, and processing data. Results are graphically illustrated. It was established that when calculating gender indices for demographic statistics, the use of simple Gender Parity and Gender Asymmetry Indices is correct, and when calculating gender indices for social statistics, specific corresponding modifications should be applied which adjust for general demographic trends when analysing the gender distributions for selected social spheres. In exceptional cases (when demographic indices of the number of men and women are comparable) gender parity indices can be used when calculating the gender indices for social spheres. Therefore the results indicate that the analysis of gender parity/asymmetry requires separate methodological approaches for demographic and social statistics.Документ Adaptation of the UN’s gender inequality index to Ukraine’s regions(2019) Акбаш, Катерина Сергіївна; Пасічник, Наталя Олексіївна; Ріжняк, Ренат Ярославович; Akbash, Kateryna; Pasichnyk, N.; Rizhniak, R.(en) The article analyzes the application of Human Development Index and derivatives from it indexes that take into account the gender factor. Today this index is used both for building a country ranking on the level of human development, and for studying the situation in the regions in the context of the indicators of this index. We proceed from the fact that for the countries in which sub-national regional indicators are very diverse in different spheres it is expedient to adapt not only the index of human development, but also the indices of the development of human potential taking into account the gender factor. This article suggests an adaptation to the sub-national level of Gender Inequality Index in the United Nations (UN) basic methodology and according to the method suggested by the authors, it is provided for a revision of the system of indicators for which the index is determined. The results obtained by the authors made it possible to compare the indicators and the trends of the two options for calculating the sub-national indices with the corresponding indicators in the country of the last 10 years. The authors concluded that Gender Inequality Index indicators in the country and Gender Inequality Index indicators derived from the UN basic methodology did not reflect a rather wide sub-national disparity. The expansion of the base of the indicators for the determination of Gender Inequality Index allowed the development of a new method of the sub-national Gender Inequality Index adaptation, to clarify the GII index calculated according to the basic methodology and, therefore, to prepare more objective political, economic and social recommendations in the context of development of human potential, taking into account the gender factor.Документ Gender parity in Educational Sphere of Kirovograd Region(2017) Пасічник, Наталя Олексіївна; Ріжняк, Ренат Ярославович; Pasichnyk, N.; Rizhniak, R.(en) The article presents the main results of the gender analysis of the educational sphere in Kirovograd region. the gender parity index was used as the main statistical indicator of gender analysis. It was calculated by the UNE- SCO method as the ratio of the number of females to the number of males. The quantitative and qualitative data analysis revealed the existence of the gender parity at the level of access to education among people of different gender in Kirovograd region. The comparison of gender parity indices among individuals who gained vocational education during 1995–2016 and indices of persons acquired higher education during the same period indicates the existence of horizontal asymmetry in the educational sphere of these levels. Male students dominated at vocational schools and female students dominated at higher educational institutions of the I-IV accreditation level. Also the interdisciplinary horizontal asymmetry can be clearly seen in higher education. This fact revealed that technical, construction and engineering specialties enumerated more male students, while training in Social Sciences, the Humanities, Education and Health Care was presented mostly by female students. The comparison of gender parity indicators of the students of Pedagogical University and corresponding indicators of subject teachers shows the tendency of significant feminization of the teaching profession.
